Suitable for any under-sink system or American style fridge-freezer where the filter is fitted externally. They will fit any of the following manufacturers' fridge freezers provided the models do use external filters.

These filters are 1 micron Carbon Block filters and are excellent value.

Technical Note on Activated Carbon

All of our fridge filters use either granular activated carbon (“GAC”) or extruded activated carbon (“carbon block”), and are the same as we use for our plumbed-in water dispensers. GAC has a labyrinthine, pore-like structure, with up to 1500 square metres of surface area per gram of carbon. That’s about a football pitch of surface area for every 5 grams. Quite literally, chlorine and other gaseous contaminants get trapped (“adsorbed”) within the structure by weak molecular forces known as Van Der Waals forces.

As the name suggests, Granular Activated Carbon consists of carbon granules. If you shake a GAC filter you can often hear the granules rattling. If these become unevenly distributed within the filter body, then channelling of the water can occur, reducing the effectiveness of the filter. “Carbon block” is made by pulverising the GAC, heating it and then extruding it in block form. The result is a finer, more efficient material, with even greater surface area and with even greater adsorbtion properties than GAC, and without the possibility of channelling.

We are introducing the following policy with immediate effect from 9th August 2008. All listings will be updated accordingly. Where there may be a conflict between this policy and any charges stated in a listing, the lower charge will apply.

1.	All P&P charges for items we sell are shown in our ebay entries. We never charge for anything extra after the event. In all cases the charge shown reflects the actual cost involved, with nothing extra added.
2.	If an item can be sent by 100g large letter post, then we show 2nd class P&P as being free, i.e. no separate charge, with small charges introduced for 1st class and "signed for" delivery.
3.	Items too large to be treated as letters are normally sent by Royal Mail’s “Packet Size” method. In this case we charge as follows:
a.	The actual Royal Mail cost, plus
b.	The packaging cost, e.g. a padded envelope.
4.	Items over 2 kg are normally sent by other carriers. In these cases we build the charge up as follows:
a.	The actual carrier cost
b.	The packaging cost, e.g. sealed-air bags, bubble-wrap, etc,
c.	A figure for the time involved, for instance in building up a large box by hand. This is normally for unusual items where more thought than usual goes into how to send it!

Return policy

Please contact us in advance to advise us of the return of unwanted items. We will refund the cost of the goods but not the postage costs. Goods should be returned in unsoiled and unused condition. Upon receipt of items we will make a refund. Cost of return is the responsibility of the buyer.
