At Katseye we have our own biochemist (with 30 years industry experience) responsible for the sourcing, testing and purchasing of all our oils.

When we state that our Sweet Orange essential oil comes from Brazil, we mean that the oranges themselves were grown in Brazil unlike many suppliers for whom country of origin relates to the country where the oil was bottled rather than the country where the plant was grown!!!

The best oils are seldom “organic” as the growers could never afford the expensive verification processes that certification requires – indeed; how can you verify as “organic” plants growing wild on a mountainside?

Plants live and breathe drawing on their environment for all they need and all that is in the environment is reflected in the plant and in the essential oil extracted from the plant.

Therapeutic grade Clary Sage comes from Russia and not some organic greenhouse in the UK. The best Sandalwood comes from ancient woodlands in India and not some commercial farm in Australia - we buy/sell only therapeutic grade oils extracted from plants grown in their native countries and in their natural settings.

For us, “Pure” means unadulterated – it is a fact that more Lavender is sold than is grown with much of what is sold as “pure” Lavender being adulterated with Lavendin (still “pure essential oil” but not just Lavender).

It is true that therapeutic oils are sometimes more expensive than much of what is available but if you require essential oils that deliver to expectations then you should consider the simple fact that as with everything else in life – you get what you pay for and that is the basis of our guarantee to you – to give you what you pay for.
