Canon Microprinter 55

Up for auction now is a Canon Microprinter 55 Microfiche Viewer/Printer.  This device is used, but is still in very good physical condition.  The only real physical issue it seems to have, is that the frame on the front that keeps the screen in place is disconnected at its top left corner.  Apparently, one of the little plastic snaps that keeps it in place is broken off.  The frame does still stay attached, but if it were to be pulled from that corner, the frame would come off (which shouldn't be a problem during normal usage).  Also, the unit is missing its input and output paper trays.  Aside from that, the rest of the unit is great.  There may be a few very minor scuffs and scratches here and there, but nothing that would affect the functionality of the unit.  Please refer to the pictures provided for further detail.

We tested the microprinter, and it responded very well.  Unit powers on without any problems, and the lamp that is installed comes on bright (note: we do not know how long this lamp has been used, or subsequently how long it will continue to last).  We do not have any actual microfilm in our warehouse, however we do have some 35mm slides, so we used one of those to test the machine.  The viewer/printer created a clear picture of the slide on the screen, so we placed a piece of paper in the input and printed the screen.  The print actually came out quite good (it looks very dark, but the slide had a dark blue background which did not translate to black and white well) and the words that were on the screen are quite legible.  We did find, when we first started, that the unit would not take a page all the way in to print.  After opening the unit up, we found that the toner cartridge had shifted just slightly out of alignment.  Once the cartridge was pushed back into place, the printer worked fine.

From our testing, we feel confident that this microprinter is in good working order.  Winner of this auction will receive the microprinter, exactly as described and pictured, with an applicable power cord.
