A reprint of a paper read before The Society of Arts, John Street, Adelphi, London on January 31st 1894. Short introduction followed by the paper as read. Also price list of California wines and analysis of California Burgundy no. 3, "Big Tree" brand. It should be noted that the price list and analysis are probably later additions, c1900. Chas. F. Oldham was a member of a wine merchants that were importing large amounts of California wine into Great Britain at the time. Historical document giving an English view of the California wine scene in the mid 1890s. See page 272 in second edition of James Gabler's Wine into Words. Card covers. Very good condition.
