"Criminal Lunatics, Bethlem Hospital and County Asylums, 1799-1843" published by Family History Indexes. 3.5" floppy disk with plain ASCII text files, suitable for any DOS/Windows word-processor and spreadsheet (even Wordpad if necessary)

The original from which this is taken is a very interesting book which reads from both ends. At the front is the register of Bethlem Hospital with case histories for many patients, including one who tried to burn down York Minster. At the other end is a list of Criminal Lunatics from around the country who were held in County institutions or occasionally who were released into the custody of individuals.

The headings include

There is much scope for further research if you find an ancestor within these pages.
