Crazy Town's music and image reflected one of the most dynamic and volatile sociocultural environments on the planet -- Los Angeles -- where the urban squalor of the South Central district exists just minutes away from the glitz of Beverly Hills. Spearheaded by a team of producers/vocalists, Seth "Shifty Shellshock" Binzer and Bret "Epic" Mazur, Crazy Town combined hip-hop's lyrical attitude and rhythmic sass with the muscle of live rock instrumentation. The combination yielded the group a number one hit in 2001, when "Butterfly" topped the Billboard 100 and helped push the band's debut effort, The Gift of Game, to platinum status. Crazy Town's debut album, The Gift of Game, is similar to many other rap-inflected alternative metal albums in that it concentrates on sound over structure, creating macho, aggressive grooves with grinding, noisily textured guitars and the underlying feel of squared-off hip-hop beats. Hooks can be a bit hard to come by, since this isn't music that relies heavily on melody (or catchy guitar riffs), but that isn't necessarily a consideration for fans of the style. What's more relevant than the tightness of the songwriting is the intensity of the assault, and on that count, Crazy Town delivers the goods. Moreover, they're refreshingly skilled in the rap department when compared to some of their contemporaries, and the album bolsters its credibility with guest appearances from KRS-One and Mad Lion, to name two. Of course, Crazy Town's audience will be largely outside the hip-hop community, but it's evidence that they can be more serious about a truer fusion of genres when they want to be.

MINT = The CD itself is in 'as new' condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The artwork is in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT = The CD shows some signs of having been played, there may be light marks that do not affect playback or sound quality. The artwork might have slight wear.
VERY GOOD = The CD has quite obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the artwork, without any major defects is acceptable.
GOOD = The CD has been played so much that it is heavily marked but guaranteed to play through. The artwork suffers from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, tears, etc. (Should this be the case the description should specify the fault).

RETURNS
Sound as a Pound Sounds strives to live up to its name by doing our best to ensure that all of our CDs play perfectly. If you receive your item and find that it is faulty or feel that the condition varies drastically from our description of it (check our rating guide before purchasing), please contact us within 7 days with your concerns and we will respond. In the event that you do not want the item, you are welcome to return it to us. If upon inspection of the returned item we find that your claim is valid, we will gladly refund the full purchase price of your item.
LOST AND DAMAGED ITEMS
If your item arrives damaged or if your item has not arrived within 14 working days please contact us with details of your item and full postal address. We will refund your purchase or send a replacement as soon as a succesful claim has been made with the Royal Mail or other postal service. Please be aware that this process usually takes a further 14 days.
