For Sale, a rare and elegant teacup and saucer from the Copeland (late Spode) factory. The item is from the period 1833 to 1847 when the company was titled COPELAND AND GARRETT before being renamed WT COPELAND. There is a hand written pattern number 5794 on both pieces. The porcelain is HIGHLY translucent with a raised classical motif in gold gilding. It has a lovely "ring". The cup is in very good condition except for two small areas of craze and very slight fading of the pattern on the inside face. The saucer has some tiny pinholes in the centre and two tiny chips on the under edge which cannot be seen from above. Because of these slight flaws there is a 99p starting bid, but the items are still very displayable. The saucer measures 6 inches in diameter and the teacup is 2.25 inches high with a rim diameter of 3.75 inches. UK cheques and postal orders are accepted, despatch is on cleared payment. Overseas buyers PAYPAL ONLY please. Refunds, after safe return, are no problem but please email first instance.
