Principles of electroplating processes:

The processes of electroplating are defined as covering any material that conducts electricity with an adherent and lasting film of metal. This is achieved by placing an object in a tank containing a solution of that metal, and then creating an electrolytic action to cover the object with a film of that metal.. The electroplating station will use the natural conductivity of the material to complete the electrolytic action that allows the plating process to work.

Once the cathode (plating object) and the anode (sheet of metal) are submersed in the tank and covered by the solution, and the station is turned on an electric current flows through the solution causing the formation of an electric circuit and starts the process of moving the metal ions from the solution to the cathode resulting in coating of the cathode (your object to be plated) by the atoms of the metal. At the same time an equal amount of the same metal is thrown off the anode into the solution.

Electroplating processes are widely used EVERYWHERE in many industries such as electronic, mediacal, machinery, decorating, crafts, jewellery etc and you can use this unit for professionally coating of all sorts of metals. Small decorative item, a work of art, a machine parts or whatever you like can be plated and upgraded (re-plated) by this unit.

This compact unit, which measures (mm) 350(w) x 130(h) x 230(d) is very safety and useful. It provides with a plating/stripping switch to safely and easily change the polarity in the barrel or tank without hands, with a plastic barrel 120 mm (D) x 70 mm wide (32 x 7 mm holes), with a clear plastic tank per 1 L of solution (200x90(H)x90 mm), with a brush for brush plating process and with a pen for a pen plating. So, uou can use this unit for all electroplating processes: tank plating, barrel plating, brush plating and pen plating.

For barrelling electroplating process it has a manual rotating wheel and a digital multi-meter to control voltage and amperage in a solution. This unit  secures voltage 0-18 VDC and amperage 0-5 ADC. This unit also has an overload cut-off system, power stabilizator and 1000 McF filter that allows you to get a high quality of result in miminum time. So, if you need to plate just one small item - use a pen or brush. If you wish to plate just few items - use tank plating process but if you have large quantity of work use a barrelling plating process - just put in the barrel the objects to be plated, deep the barrel in the tank (1L of solution) and rotate it inside a solution. This way of electroplating is best for large scale of works because you DO NOT need to connect each item by hook to a cathode rod (negative source).
