I bought this oil for my T4 as it’s got a noisy gearbox and the synchro is crunchy in 1st gear ⚙️😢 well it quietend It Down and first gear has not crunched since? I know gear oil and engine oil are different and gear oil is slightly thicker though engine oil has done the trick,, I had an old car with a Vw gear box on it years ago and it leaked oil all the time and as it costs me £50 I didn’t care what oil went in it and it worked for 2 years until I scrapped it that’s how I know it would be ok in the T4😉 it’s ok reading about what manufacturers say you should and shouldn’t do but I’ve tried and tested this oil 20w50 in the gearbox and I’m also towing with it with no issues at all,

We know that unlike modern engines old engines need to bed in. This means that oil need to allow a level of surface contact that enables piston rings for instance to form to the correct shape of the cylinder. Non synthetics oils allow this.

It is better than my local car parts superstore own brand. The price is almost half and I use less of it ( not sure if I burn less or less less 😉 )

Worth every penny! This is very competetively priced, it has a good level of protection and does its job very well. It 's a 20/50 mineral oil with low detergent content. Seem's well suited to the older engines.
