     *Up for sale here is a very early milk bottle that would have probably taken the tin top. It has the hand finished tooled top and is in near mint condition. This example is simply embossed, "CLARK WEED". But to my research this man operated a dairy farm in the small town of Woodhull, New York during the late 1800's into the early part of the 1900's. The town of Woodhull, NY is in the southern part of Steuben county, west of Corning, New York. This hand blown milk bottle is in the pint size, and is beginning to turn a nice amethyst color from the sun. It measures 6 3/4 inches tall, and has a nice squatty shape form to it. On the base it is embossed, "T.M.F.G. Co. / PAT. SEPT 17 th 1889". This bottle was made by the Thatcher Manufacturing Glass Company. A nice early one from the state of New York in super clean condition. This bottle was never buried with basically no wear.
