This is a NO RESERVE auction for a Citroen Berlingo 600LX which was converted to run on LPG when it was brand new.
The van has only 37k on the clock and so is in very good condition. Some minor scratches on the bodywork where some numpty hasn't used a hairdryer to remove the decals. These will probably polish out with a bit of TCut.
It has twin side loading doors which is VERY handy when parked up to load in town and also has electric front windows.
The MOT has run out but we will put a new MOT on it before it goes.
The van starts and drives very well as you would expect from a vehicle with such low mileage. It has a full service history with the last service done at 31250 miles.
The gas system is a Nicholson McLaren with a 48 litre tank in the spare wheel well under the floor. The spare wheel bolts to the bulkhead. The system starts on petrol and then switches to gas automatically when the engine reaches the correct temperature. It switches back again when you run out of LPG. We have the conversion certificate and it will go with the vehicle.
We have spent some money on this van trying to solve a slight engine problem. The gas system stopped working and we were told by the gas mechanic that it was an engine problem and not a gas system problem. We had a new water pump installed and it turned out to be a thermostat problem so we had a new one fitted. There still seems to be an issue with the gas system as it doesn't run on full power when on gas. We checked the in-line filter and that was fine so we have now been told that it is probably an injector or the wiring to an injector. This will cost less than £200 to sort out. We can't spend any more time on it so it is up for sale as it is but with a starting price which reflects that it does have an issue and there is no reserve. The van runs fine when on petrol.
The van can be viewed in our yard at any time during business hours and no appointment is necessary.
If there is anything else you wish to know then please email us and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.
The final bid price will be subject to Vat, sorry but we paid vat when we bought it so we have to charge vat on the sale.
This is a very useful and extremely economical little van and will be a bargain for someone but we are not letting it go for nothing. There are chancers out there who will make daft offers so, to those who would, please don't bother. Sorry if this sounds harsh but there are some cheeky monkeys out there who insist on wasting everyone's time. Genuine ebay bidders I am sure will understand.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you decide to bid then Good Luck !!
