Terms and Conditions - please read carefully. All items are offered with a full guarantee of refund if not correctly described. We follow standard descriptions used by all major art auction houses as follows. "Attributed to" means that in our opinion the work is probably by the artist him/herself. "Circle of" means that the painting is by an unknown distinct hand, closely associated with the artist, but not necessarily a pupil. "Follower of" means a work in the artist's style, contemporary or nearly contemporary to the artist, but not necessarily a pupil. "Manner of" is a painting which in our opinion is in the style of the artist, but from a later date. "After" is in our opinion a copy of a known image of the artist. Paintings with frames older than 100 years, or frames which are especially intricate or delicate are packed to the best of our ability but we cannot be held responsible for damage in the post. In the case of paintings by important artists we try and obtain expert opinion as to authenticity. Where a painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity it is sold purely on the basis of that opinion and is not subject to return in the case of subsequent differing opinions.  In placing a bid you are indicating that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms. We do not offer local pick up as all paintings are packed by a local professional firm of shippers.
