Designed by CHRISTOPHER DRESSER for LINTHORPE POTTERY circa 1880s
This 7 3/4"[19.7cm] diameter plate is decorated with a moulded roundel featuring a bird amongst flowers and foliage. The reverse of the plate is impressed with the Linthorpe mark and number and Chr. Dresser facsimile signature. The plate is made from an unglazed pottery body and, not surprisingly, it has some discolouration and staining. There is has also been a small rim chip that has been glued back in place (see photo). There are no other chips or restoration and no cracks._____________
