Alexandra Kerwin is one of the finest and most versatile performers in brass banding. She currently occupies the Flugel Horn position with the Black Dyke Band but has been Principal Cornet and Soprano Cornet of brass bands like Scottish Co-Op and YBS.

On this disc, she admirably demonstrates The Kerwin Sound not only on Soprano, Bb Cornet and Flugel Horn but on Bb and D Trumpet too!

The 18 tracks cover the whole gamut from technical brilliance to beautiful slow melodic arias and this performer controls them all with wonderfully shaped and delivered readings. There is something for all tastes here from opera to Salvation Army, Spanish/Mexican trumpet to Japanese precision.

Accompaniment is provided by a number of different ensembles and also by Philip Wilby on Piano and Organ (not at the same time!).
