CD OF WW2 GERMAN FAMILY PHOTO ALBUM NURNBERG 400 SCANS

Here I have produced a cd containing over 400 high resolution scans produced from 3 original photo albums belonging to the same family who lived in the German City Nurnberg ( better known as Nuremberg ) . The spiritual heartland of the Nazi party and later largely destroyed by allied bombing .

Throughout the album we see the beautiful architecture of the towns buildings ,and then the madness that griped the city as insignia drapes every building .

The albums record life over  a number of years , a few photos date to WW1 , but the bulk are 1930s through to1940s . They seem to be a comfortably off middle class family who own a hairdressers , there are nice photos of the exterior and interior of the shop ..both pre and during nazi era ...the owner is seen as a party member .

There are photos of mass meetingswith public and soldiers in town square . photos of zeppelins overhead , an unpublished photo of Rudolf Hess , photos of very old trains ,photos of the outside of the arena where Hilter gave his speaches .

The family have 2 sons ..they are pictured first as young lads and eventually seen as uniformed soldiers ...approximately 20% of the photos show these men in uniform and there service ...pictures here show devastation , tanks , etc ..firstly in france and belgium and later on the russian front .

The images offer a fascinating insight into an ordinary family caught up in extraordinary times .
