Here I offer a Cd containing approx 210 high resolution scans from 2 original photos albums within my collection .

The albums belonged to  German Kriegsmarine sailor who served on Panzershiff Deutschland and covers a period between approximately 1934 through to 1940s ..lots of images of crew , shots on deck , places visited , shots of the ship ...this gives a real flavour of life on board the ship .

The Deutschland was involved in the Spanish civil war , there are pictures of the bombardment of Palma and also damage inflicted on the ship after a spanish air attack , there are pictures of the large funeral service held at Wilhemshaven for members of the ships crew who were killed in the attack ...The German leader  A H is  seen in several photos on board the ship  .

The ship is also seen in dry dock undergoing repairs ..these are great images .
