Bourgeois in Brass is a CD of music for brass band by Derek Bourgeois. It is played by the Yorkshire Building Society Band conducted by Professor David King. The Yorkshire Building Society Band achieved unprecedented success in competition, concert hall and recording studio in the late 1990s and early 2000s and this CD was recorded when the band was arguably at the height of its powers.

The CD contains three brass band blockbusters; Apocalypse was commissioned by the Yorkshire Building Society Band for the Gala Concert of the 2003 European Brass Band Championships. Blitz is an older work which was commissioned as the test piece for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in the early 1980s. Concerto Grosso was originally written for the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble but later scored for brass band. In this form, it was the choice of this band as their own choice test piece at several European Brass Band Championships. 

This CD also includes a performance of the Sonata for Trombone and Brass Band by Ian Bousfield, one of the finest trombone players of his generation, who is the Principal Trombone player in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
