CAUTION ABOUT ANOTHER SELLER OFFERING "CCD EQUAL CAMERAS".  HIS CAMERA USES A CMOS OV7949 SENSOR, I HAVE TESTED THESE AND EVEN HAVE THEM IN MY SHOP FOR CHEAPER, THESE ARE NOT CCD EQUAL.  HE IS BREAKING THE TRADE DESCRIPTIONS ACT BY MAKING THAT CLAIM (ESPECIALLY COMPARING NIGHT TIME QUALITY).  THE OV7949 PAL VERSION OR THE OV7450 NTSC VERSION ARE BETTER THAN A OV7910 SENSOR THE CHINESE SELL ON HERE BUT THATS IT.  THEY DON'T EQUAL CCD.  ANYONE WANTING FURTHER INFO PLEASE EBAY MESSAGE ME.

 Have a look for CCD cameras from the main electrical outlets and you will see these cameras are substantially below of the cost of even the cheapest retailer. The camera will be supplied with a 1.5m power lead so you will not have to search round for a suitable one. You can purchase the RCA cable for the video signal in my shop. A CCD camera offers a much improved picture quality compared to CMOS versions. They also produce a better image in low light conditions. The maker of the CCD sensor has a big effect of the quality of image produced. These are made by Sharp and are one of the best you can buy. They use upgraded circuits and give a picture equally as good as tthe Sony sensor we have had on previous versions of this camera. Unlike the Sony sensor these are compatible with all resolutions of monitor. Cheaper sensor will not produce the quality of image at night especially. Please check your monitor will accept a PAL input. You should find that most modern monitors will.

Sharp CCD reversing camera during day


This photograph is showing a day view obtained from this camera. The camera was mounted around 7 foot high and is tilted up to give a view down the road. The first car was about four to five feet away. These cameras are often used as always on rear view and depending on your vehicle can just about be adjusted to get both close up to the vehicle and a longer view. It can be hard however to get a view of the corners of your vehicle and a more distant view down the road. CCD cameras produce good colour definition and contrast.

The image above was produced by the camera tilted to view across the back of the vehicle. You can see the entire rear of the vehicle plus a good bit either side. The curvature is typical of a wide angle camera.

This photograph shows the night view on a fairly well lit main road road. The great advantage of a quality CCD sensor is the night view the give.

With cheaper CMOS cameras the lights from following cars completely swamp the image. This night view shows how on a CCD camera you can still see even with a car close up with their lights on.
