Cassettes are great! they are light, portable, cheap and easy to use. Little mini versions of your favourite records! Although record companies are now trying to phase them out there were periods, particularly in the 1980's, when they tried to encourage people to buy them by adding extra tracks or different mixes which can make them quite rare and very collectable.
