SOW THE CARNATION SEEDS UNDER GLASS FROM JANUARY ONWARDS. THEY CAN BE ATRANSPLANTED OUTSIDE ONCE THE DANGER OF FROST HAS PASSED. CARNATIONS LIKE A WELL DRAINED SUNNY POSITION.

WITH THE PERENNIAL CARNATIONS YOU CAN INCREASE AND REJUVENATE YO UR STOCK BY EITHER TAKING CUTTINGS OR DIVIDING CLUMPS

SLUGS TEND TO LIKE THE CARNATION FOLIAGE AND YOU CAN TREAT THE CARNATION WITH THE SAME PREVENTION METHODS AS BRASSICAS. I FIND THAT COLLARS DON'T LOOK ALL THAT PRETTY IN A FLOWER BED AND I TEND TO HIDE A SAUCER WITH BEER AMONGST THE CARNATIONS.
