Offered here is a mega-rare bellhousing which allows the attachment of the 5-speed Type 9 gearbox to the Essex V6 engine.

It also comes complete with a Type 9 gearbox in perfect condition, and the gearbox cross-member. This was removed from my own car and has a superb change quality and no nasty noises whatsoever. It was only removed because I replaced it with a Borg Warner T5. In some ways I regret this because the T5 has turned out to be noisier and less pleasant to use!

Anyway, although the Type 9 included in the sale is perfect, rest assured that it is the bellhousing which is the star item.

These are incredibly hard to find, having I believe, only been fitted to early V4 engined Mk1 Consul Granada's.

With 4-speed Essex 3000 V6 engined Capri's, Granada's, and of course RS3100 Capri's being somewhat under-geared for motorway use, the fitment of a Type 9 5-speed 'box makes a significant difference to refinement and economy at speed. And this particular gearbox supplied was a joy to use and transformed my V6 Capri on long runs.
