CANONFLEX RM BODY 1961-1964 EXCELLENT++ COSMETIC CONDITION.
A solidly made camera from the early sixties with a rather unique low profile pentaprism which makes it look more like a rangefinder than an SLR. Not too common to see these nowadays.
Cosmetic Condition
-
A very clean camera in collector condition. See pics for a better evaluation of appearance.
-
The baseplate is the only area where ther are a few fine scratches and nicks and there is a small depression next to the key which unlocks the back
-
The advance lever has a tiny area of paint loss at its base.
-
The interior is super clean with perfect cloth shutter blinds
Mechanical Condition
- There is an erratic problem with the shutter where it will occasionally misfire especially after extended lack of use. I cannot seem to force it to misbehave at present and as long as the film advance lever is firmly taken to the full extent of its travel, this does seem to resolve the problem. However please keep this in mind when bidding. I am sure that a service by a repairer competent with these cameras would resolve the issue.
- The selenium meter is in working order and in agreement with my Sekonic L208 hand held meter.
- The viewfinder is clear but there are one or two specs on the focusing screen. Not uncommon in an old SLR and nothing major.
Summary
In all a very nice collector camera which would benefit from a general service but which is usable in its present state if you accept that it may result in the odd missed frame here and there.
