NORTH WILTSHIRE DISTRICT - Official Guide - c1978

This official guide consists of 88 pages of local information and history, industry & commerce, well illustrated (inc some good street photos), local business advertisements and a large foldout district map. Very nice informative guide.

This booklet includes information about the towns in the district including Calne, Chippenham, Corsham, Cricklade, Malmesbury, Purton, Wootton Bassett, PLUS the villages around each town. Also mentions the RAF station at Lyneham and there is a nice whole page advert for the Westinghouse Brake & Signal Company. 

Issued by authority of the North Wiltshire District Council, designed & published by The Home Publishing Co. Can't find a specific publication date but it looks mid 1970s and the map has a reference number which indicates 1978.  (The NWDC was formed in 1974 and this is second official guide to the district).

Stiff card covered booklet, 88 pages plus cover, size approx 15cm x 21cm. Overall good condition, clean, contents good, corners good, staples spine tight. There are three X mark annotations in ink alongside town or village names. 

An excellent item for the local historian, family history researcher and collector.
