What we are offering here is a superb hand coloured mezzotint featuring a religous scene. The mezzotint was published by Roake and Varty of 31 Strand, London. One of the other mezzotints from this series is dated 13th April 1789 and this is from the same period. From the little we have been able to find out about the publisher, it would seem that religous material was their speciality.
This mezzotint shows Simeon and Anna, the prophecy of Christ.
The mezzotint is in super condition and the colour is very fresh, the print aong with 28 more in the series were stored in an album and the colour has remained completely unfaded.

The overall condition of this mezzotint is good (see scans).
