Description

This is a glorious and rare early antique Cameo with a patent date of     August 6, 1878 (#206696). It is black and white enamel on copper with engraved copper swirls, the pronged copper setting holds a black thick glass oval and then a wonderfully detailed white porcelain? head of a young girl of the period, very finely carved.  This could be some kind of stone also. Brooch is closed at the back.  All is in very good condition but with a small chip in the black glass on the lower right corner underneath, its hard to see as the glass is beveled and I hope the pictures have captured it., you can only see it when you turn the cameo up towards you. Otherwise very nice condition.

Measures just over 1.5" x 1.25". And is almost 1/2" deep. A really stunning and beautiful cameo of the period.
