Burr walnut writing slope brass corners and bindings.

This is circa 1840, it is very much in the style of the military slopes that were being made.


A writing box in Burr walnut, brass bound and with shaped escutcheon and plaque. The surface which retains its original finish is beautifully patinated.


The writing surface is original and there is wear across the bend, if the winner requests I can replace this with a new, if possible I always recommend to try and keep the original.



 


Its has a set of secret draws, the strip of wood that holds these in place has been replaced at sometime and is not a good fit and needs looking at.


All the metal work is original and an ink well from that period.

I accept for dealers it is sometimes difficult to get full load together at once so I will store the items until full load is made up, you pay as you buy and I add the postage when you are ready.

I will accept payment in anything, but from a buyer’s point of view paypal is the safest and I would recommend it.



I will post world wide, I use FedEx for international and DHL for EU
Which works out at approx £35 and £25 respectively.
I will combine postage cost for bulk buyers and dealers which works out very cost effective, because volume is also a factor as well as weight, it’s difficult to estimate until packed.

I pack well, and post fast, but accidents happen and we will sort them out, we will not just leave you to sort it out and except no responsibility.
