Welcome to an auction for a viewing trip and holiday to a relatively little-known, but quite wonderful part of Bulgaria.  Further information on the viewing side is available on our website, only ebay rules mean that I can't give you the site address directly - but I'm sure if you search for the name of our company, Offbeatbulgaria, you'll find us easily enough ;)  You'll see that we have a great selection of places we know well, honestly described and at very fair prices.

We have a funky guest house in the mountainous interior of Bulgaria, just over an hour from Sofia Airport.  We can help you organise inexpensive car hire from the airport, then it's an easy drive to the village of Malak Izvor.  Or we can come and get you for a small extra cost.

The auction is for one days B & B with a healthy Bulgarian breakfast made by Granny Vasa, so you just pay for as many extra people and nights that you want.  We charge 15 euro pppn.  Often we have mountain biking guests, but call us for your preferred dates and we should be able to accommodate you. So, the trip can be a holiday where you explore this fascinating area, on foot, bike or car and get to know the real Bulgaria - come and step back in time to a traditional society where the food is from the garden and the pace from another century.  We have lots of information and advice to help you plan many activities and things to do.  You can be as busy or laid back as you like.....No pressure.

If you like the area and are considering investing in rural property in Bulgaria, we can help you and show you places of your choice, all within 30 mins drive.  There is no charge for this service, only petrol if using our car.  As we explain on the offbeat site, we specialise in interesting older village properties, that have great character and can be inexpensively restored - many need very little or no work. At the moment, Brits are hesitating about investing in seaside apartments, ski resorts or featureless inland areas......but those in the know are becoming more focused on the more unspoilt mountainous regions. And for those looking to escape the UK and it's problems - house prices are still rising here!  This is partly due to the increasing wealth of the Sofians who are seeking weekend homes, bringing in money and steadily pushing up prices.  Our prices offered to Bulgarians and Brits are identical and our way of operation will hopefully feel refreshingly different to you.

We think you will fall in love with this relatively little-known corner of this fascinating country.  Thanks to some unique geological conditions it has a huge variety of landscapes in quite a small area.  The nature is amazing and unspoiled here and the people open and friendly - it's possible to live a very satisfying lifestyle, either permanently or a few precious weeks a year.  And if it all gets a bit too peaceful, Sofia, a lively, cultured European Capital is on the doorstep!
