Bronze Samurai Bust Life Size

This sculpture entitled 'Morning Glory' depicts a life size rendition 'Hot Bronze Casting' of a 17th Century Samurai Warrior of the Otowara Clan.  This piece is an artistic representation based on an original helmet in the possession of the Tower of London Armouries.  This sculpture was created using the lost wax process utilising traditions traversing four millennia.  A minimum of 45lbs of molten bronze was used for this casting, poured at temperatures in excess of 2000 degrees.  The mould was left to cool for a few days before the arduous task of breaking the seal in order to reveal the casting in its raw state.  Once cleaned the casting was skillfully fettled and polished before the final application of the patination.  This patination was achieved by the use of various acids and salts applied under heat to create the desired effect.  The green verdigris finish is achieved by the natural aging process.

This is the only hot bronze casting in existence and is therefore unique!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  Please note this is a genuine original Hot Bronze Casting not to be confused with Cold Cure Bronze or Cold Painted Bronze, which are in fact plastic resin with a bronze paint coating.
