A bronze Antoninianus measuring 22 mm across of Gallienus 253 - 268 AD, though the legends are not fully legible.
The obverse shows the head of the Emperor wearing the radiate crown with the surrounding legend IMP GALLIENVS AVG. The single G shows that this coin dates from Gallienus' sole reign.
The reverse design is of a god. The surrounding legend appears to be PAX AETERN AVG. If so, this would seem too optimistic for an Emperor who spent all his reign fighting external and internal enemies and who was eventually murdered by his own troops.
All our coins are sent with a Certificate of Authenticity which includes a photograph of the coin for identification.
