This piece is a unique example of a hafted hammerstone/small maul. The drawing I have done illustrates the method used to haft it.It is a classic example of early man using what was available around him.The flint would have formed naturally, the ends knocked off and the next natural progression after holding it in the hand, would have been to haft it (as illustrated). What a usefull bit of kit! I have found net sinkers made from nturally forme flint nodules, but this piece is very clever. The wear is easy to see when you hold it.As with all my artfacts; I guaranteed them to be 100% genuine and have a quibble-free refund policy if you are unhappy with them in any respect. Thanks for looking-you won't ever see another of these specialist tools on the net. |
