British Army (44.5 ins long):"WW2 WEBBING CROSS STRAPS"

An unissued, unblancoed pair of British Army WW2 DATED WEBBING CROSS STRAPS. Strictly speaking, these are not a "pair", as they are both "female" straps - with the additional loop added to allow the other strap to pass through them, when being worn. This however, doesn't matter, as they can be worn as a pair. Although they were made by the same manufacturer, one is dated 1941, whilst the other is dated 1942. .
These straps were designed for the 1937 pattern webbing, and attach from the buckles on the back of the belt, across the shoulders, to the front, where they would go through the buckles on the waistbelt pouches, or attach to the brace attachments (if the pouches weren't being carried). This pair were made by "H.H.C & Co Ltd", and are stamped with their details. They are 44.5 inches (113cm) in length, which is the smallest size issued by the British Army during WW2 (for soldiers under approximately 5ft 6ins in height).
Straps like these would have been worn by a range of forces, including - the Army, Airborne Forces, Parachute Regiment, Commandos, Special Air Service, Long Range Desert Group, Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Chindits, RAF Regiment, and even the Home Guard. 
Unissued, unblancoed. Excellent condition considering age.
