You are bidding on this brilliant old original PALETHORPE's Sausages advertising box.

Palethorpe's established 1852 sold pies, brawn, bacon, hams and lard.

There is advertising on every side, plus the top and base and there's this lovely piece that says "This Box Free, anyone using it for the sale or carrying of any sausages other than Palethorpe's Sausages is liable to a heavy penalty".

It measures 16 1/2 inches wide, 6 1/2 inches tall and 10 and a bit inches back to front.

There's even an old railway label on the box.

The condition is fair to good; it has marks, is a little grubby in places and one corner has come away from the staples, but for the age, this is a cracker.

In the right location, this would be an absolute show stopper, it's as good a piece of original advertising as I've seen for a while.

It would be a nice addition to any collection, super display piece or prop for Re-Enactors, Film or TV Companies.
