An old original brass fireman helmet. Has the rare nichol crest badge of coat of arms on front for Edinburgh Fire Brigade, on the sides of the impressive badge are 2 dragons,with dragons on sides of comb.Helmet has old leather liner, there are no chinchains with helmet as this Brigade used just leather straps. Helmet has vent hole to top of comb and plume holder to side. When the brigade was disbanded the words of Edinburgh Fire brigade were removed from under crest,if anyone has a ribbon/scroll please let me know,also the helmet rear skirt and peak were cut down and hence 3 small holes where ribbon fitted under coat of arms.Helmet has some dents but no cracks, this is a rare helmet and I hope it goes back to Scotland.
