Brand New BMW Spare Remote Central Locking/Alarm Key Fob
Offered for sale is a brand new BMW Spare Remote Central Locking/Alarm Key Fob. The key fob is brand new, with uncut blade and new internal electronics. Suitable for a range of BMWs, including the E46 3 Series (2001-2006), E39 5 Series (2001-2003), E53 X5 (2001-2007), E60 5 Series (2003 only), E63/64 6 Series (2005-2006), E85 Z4 Series (2003 on) and other models, but please check this is right type of key you require before bidding. Please compare the metal key blade of your existing key to the one shown in the photos - it must match it exactly to be compatible. If it doesn't match it, you require a different type of key (please see our other auctions). The blade of the key will need to be cut and the fob reprogrammed (instructions are provided with this auction) to match your BMW’s alarm and central locking system. The blade can be cut at most automotive locksmiths - much like a house key. This auction is for one brand new, new used, complete key, it is not just a plastic case, it is the complete key. Spare keys are so important, not only if you loose your main key, but when you come to sell your BMW it will be expected to have 2 or 3 spare keys. These keys retail at £145 (+VAT) at BMW dealers. Postage & Packaging
Please see below for this item's individual postage and packaging rate. The item will be dispatched by first class recorded post. Items are generally dispatched between 1 and 3 working days. If the item is too big or heavy to be sent first class, it will be dispatched by Royal Mail's parcel service. Due to an increasing number of fraud cases all parcels are dispatched with a tracking number (this does cost slightly more, but is now a necessity). Postal insurance is mandatory for all items costing over £100 - insurance is charged at a flat £2.00 per item. Royal Mail will usually deliver within 1-2 days. But please allow up to 7 days for delivery before contacting me.

I'm not sure if the item is compatible with my car, I don't understand the model codes, can you help?
All BMW cars are given a model code, also known as an 'E' number. For example a BMW 3 Series made between 1991 and 1999 is known as an E36. This model code applies to all derivatives of the Series, i.e. the Saloon, Coupe, Touring, Convertible and Compact. They are all known as an E36 3 Series. The newer the model of the car the higher the 'E' number, i.e. a 3 Series from the 1990s is and E36, but the current 3 Series shape is an E90. Just the complicate matters, in the cast majority of cases, BMW introduces a 'facelift' model, generally half way through the car's life cycle. And although known as the same 'E' number there may be subtle differences which can effect the compatibility of parts. I've paid for my item straight away with PayPal - how long will it be until I receive it?
Items are generally dispatched between 1 and 3 working days. All items (unless otherwise stated) are dispatched by Recorded First Class post - this requires a signature at your end. This method provides proof to both parties that the item has been dispatched and received, therefore avoiding any disputes. The vast majority of customers receive their goods the next day, however it can take up to 3 working days. Due to the nature of the British postal system it is not possible to guarantee delivery times - please have a bit of patience with the postal system.

What about insurance?
For an additional £2.00 you can purchase postage insurance. The £2.00 will cover the full cost of your item (including any postage costs). If an item is lost or damaged in the post, you'll receive either a replacement product or a full refund. Either way its £2.00 well spent. Please note, due to an increasing number of fraud cases, it is now mandatory for items over £100 to have postal insurance. This will be added to your payment.

Where do your items come from?
The vast majority of the items you see for sale come from BMW GB themselves. Due to BMWs own high standards they cannot sell off old stock, seconds, ex-display, shop soiled or second-hand items directly to consumers. This is where the majority of items come from, some are sourced from alternative private suppliers - such as breakers or private individuals. Because each item is double checked for both condition and authenticity, you, the consumer, know you are getting an original BMW product - just a lot cheaper.

You say you only post within the United Kingdom, do you ship aboard?
At the moment it is policy not to ship items outside of the United Kingdom - due to enhanced risk and a number of cases of fraud. This is now a mandatory policy - no exceptions. Sorry to all the genuine international eBayers, but please do not bid as it will not be accepted.

I've seen the photos and descriptions you use on other auctions, what's up with this?
All the photographs and descriptions are my own and are produced for each individual item. A different photo is taken for each item - that way you can see the exact item you will receive.
