Three very clean pharmacy, medicine bottles. All are aqua glass and date to around 1900. No serious chips or cracks, but some very minor defects that don't detract from the bottles but only listed to be completely honest with the their condition. All are from England. All have raised lettering on the sides.
Bottle 1. Marked "Young's Cough Mixture - 'Sally Come Up' " on one panel only. Marked "Y G Co" on the bottom in a hex frame. Our information on glass markings, dates this as 1870-1910. No chips, but some small internal cracks near the top of the neck. They may be defects in the neck stretching process. One can be felt on the top, but none on the outside. They are not very noticeable. Also, a few internal bubbles. Two part mold with marks on vertical corners. Mold marks extend about 1/2 way up the neck. 5-5/8 inches high.
Bottle 2. Marked on side: "Bromleys Extract of Herbs - Bloomsbury Works - Leeds". Letters are in a zig-zag pattern of lines on one of the flat sides. Marked with a "V" on the bottom. No chips or cracks, but some "sickness" on rear, clear panel. Two part mold. Marks on vertical corners, with a sharp raised line on one shoulder where glass leaked from the mold. Mold marks extend about 1/3 of the way up the neck. 5-3/16 inches high.
Bottle 3. A "Poison" bottle, marked with vertical ribs and "Not to Be Taken" on one side panel. "Poison" bottles were marked with ribs so that someone handling the bottle in the dark would know not to take the medicine by mouth. Usually for rubbing compounds, antiseptics, or similar liquids, and not designed as a poison, but something that one would not want to drink accidentally and could be harmful. No identification marks on bottom. Two part mold with marks on vertical corners. Mold marks on neck extend about 1/2 way up. Stretch marks on neck and a few internal bubbles. Otherwise, clean and no cracks or chips. Measures 4-7/8 inches high.
