I bought this pedal recently but found I needed the DD20. The DD3 is a perfectly good delay pedal, It's range is vast and i've seen plenty of people using this onstage, so its more than versatile. Here's what major companies say about it.

The Boss DD3 is an essential pedal, providing pro quality sound whilst being simple to use. As well as working as a standard delay pedal, giving variable delay speeds from 12.5ms to 800ms, the DD-3 also has a HOLD mode. It’s really easy to use but can be used to great effect. Basically its a loop mode, simply set the delay time, push your foot down on the pedal and play. the sound will start to loop/repeat. Each time the sound loops round you can add to it, creating rich atmospheric tapestries of sound…or just great fun to play with! Take your foot of the pedal and the loop stops, keep your foot on it and your loop carries on to infinity and beyond. This pedal also features a direct output, this enables you to take the unaffected signal and send it to one amp and the effect signal to a separate amp.
