This is a pair of Borneo Dayak – Orang Ulu Brass Earrings, one of the most fascinated ornaments used is a heavy brass earring, worn by the Orang Ulu women and men to elongate their earlobes. Personal adornment is very much evident among the Orang Ulu community.  

The elongated earlobes symbolize great beauty among the community, hence enhance their looks. Traditionally, parents may like to perforate and stretch their child’s ear by hanging brass earrings or other types of ornament. Like any other old tribal tradition, it is practised by the younger generation.
