 DETAILS: (London): W Satchell & Co, 1881. First edition. Brown cloth boards. 472pp. 8vo (standard sized book).

CONDITION: Very Good to Good (see table below for details). Some bumping and rubbing to boards. Some sunning to pages at margins, and slight foxing to a few pages. Rear endpaper has some pencil notes, and ink annotation to one page. Previous owner's bookplate to endpaper. The binding is sound. This is a very reasonable copy. *Photo(s) given of actual book.

CONTENTS: This is a very comprehensive list of topographical works relating to Britain and Ireland. The volume focuses most particularly on England but has additional chapters on Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.

The catalogue contains almost 14,000 topographical books and many local directories here listed for the first time. The subjects covered include abbeys, antiquities, borders, canals, castles, coasts, churches, gazetteers, islands, lakes, railways, schools, tours, views, and watering places from Aberconway to Youghal.
