CONDITION - 83 pages. No dustcover, hardcover a little bumped, some light foxing, presentation sticker on inside front cover dated 1930, otherwise an excellent tight, sound copy which appears unused.

SYNOPSIS: A lovely book featuring a number of old-fashioned recipes for sweets. A detailed look at the art of sweet making, containing much advice still of practical use today. Contents Include - List of Necessary Utensils, Materials and Useful Hints - Sugar Boiling and Spun Sugar - Fondant, and its Uses - Marzipan, and its Uses - Crystallization - Chocolates - Caramels - Nougat and Various Sweets - Toffees - Sweets Made without the use of a Thermometer.
