Boardworks Epoxy Ben Aipa Stinger. Big Brother Stinger 10 2 There’s a fair bit of info below about the board, it’s construction and a variety of links that you may find useful. In June 2002 I stopped smoking. I smoked a lot and decided that if I succeeded in stopping, that I would reward myself with a new surfboard every June. I still don’t smoke and now have too many boards! I’m struggling for storage space. I’m not a collector but just love surfboards. The boards that I’m selling have all been ridden in a variety of conditions, from small up to about a maximum of head and a bit. I look after my boards. They’re always kept in bags and if I do manage to ding them they are always repaired professionally. I never take a board in the water with duck tape on it! Boardworks Aipa, Big Brother Stinger 10 2. Boardworks boards are a similar idea to Surf tech / Tuflite but I believe that the Boardworks boards have high density foam stringers. I bought this board last summer from Seabase in Newquay. I’d been thinking about one for a couple of years and just had to give on a go! I’d read up about Ben Aipa and found him pretty inspiring. It is the chunkiest board I’ve ever ridden. It is very floaty and very light. It really is a wave catching machine. Dimensions – 10 2 x 18 1/2 x 23 5/8 x 14 5/8 x 4 ¼ - It’s a beast! There’s a bit of flip in the nose which makes it forgiving on late take-offs and it’s very fast down the line. The stinger tail makes it loose when ridden from the tail. The board is in very good condition. The deck shows a number of minor pressure dings, certainly nothing major. The paint on the tail was chipped in two places and this has been repaired professionally. I stress that this was only the paint. The white is a slight mismatch but the grey is very good. The close up of the tail shows the area repaired. The board remained watertight with the glass still fully intact. There are some minor scratched on the nose from going in and out of a bag. Shipping I can't ship the item but I will be travelling around the country quite a bit in November and December. I'll be going to Manchester, Lincoln, Stoke, Dartford, Portsmouth, a fair bit, I may be able to deliver or meet you somewhere. Please contact me before bidding to see if we are able to arrange a meeting point. If you’re in Devon or Cornwall I may well be able to deliver for the price of the fuel, especially if you are near a break! Any questions or if you want to come any have a look at it send me a message or give me a call on 07803 387301. Richard

About the construction of the boards (extract from the Boardworks website) What sets Boardworks apart from other epoxy sandwich manufacturers is our proprietary T.E.C., (Thermal Epoxy Compression) technology. Utilizing this technology, where we apply both heat and pressure, coupled with the finest epoxy resins, Boardworks produces a sandwiched surfboard that is light, tight, and very durable. Each Boardworks board consists of a dual-density core, (EPS bonded to a high density divynicell outer shell), fiberglass, and epoxy resins. In our T.E.C. construction we are able to replicate a board from some of your favorite shapers that has an amazing strength to weight ratio and excellent flex and rebound characteristics that give our boards a "feel" in the water that surfers of all abilities will appreciate.
