This is a collection of eighteen postcards that were sent for by a friend of ours who has sadly died. She collected the cards as a girl in the 1940s. The following is a little information on each...Anne Crawford (Picturegoer no W153 dated 1.7.1947), Stewart Granger (Picturegoer no W144, dated Sept 1946), Stewart Granger (no info), George Murphy (dated 12.10.1946), Greer Garson (Picturegoer No B2, dated 7.3.1946), Margaret O'Brien (dated 13th. May 1947), Elizabeth Taylor (dated 13th. Feb. 1948), Deanna Durbin (Picturegoer no 148, dated 1st July 1947), Deanna Durbin (sent by Universal Studios), James Mason (Picturegoer no 151 dated September 1946), Rex Harrison (Picturegoer no 1428 dated Sept. 1946), Gregory Peck (no info), John Mills (no info), Shirley Temple Agar, (sent from Vanguard Studio, Culver City, California June 1947, bears apparently faxcimili signature), Dorothy (Dottie) Lamour (no info, bears apparently facsimili signature ) Esther Williams (no info bears signature), Margaret Lockwood (has 'Sincerely Margaret Lockpood' apparently actually written on it, genuine autograph or not I cannot say), Rosamund John (again no info other than signature apparently applied and not printed, genuine or not I cannot say).
The cards are in a typical 'used' condition. They were, after all, displayed by a little girl and subsequently stored with other things for over half a century. Their condition reflects all this.
Please ask if further information on a specific card or issue concerning them is required. I have tried to be as fair as I can but know nothing about postcards whatsoever.
These cards may as well go to someone who will enjoy them rather than just kept stored for more years but if they are not making a satisfactory figure they will be removed from sale and retained by us. Please do not, therefore, merely 'watch' untill the last minute, that might be too late to bid. Sorry.
