Black Tree Aeonium

Latin Name: Aeonium arboreum 'Schwarzkopf'

Aeonium arboreum var atropurpureum 'Schwarzkopf', or Black Tree Aeonium, is a very interesting Aeonium. The 8-inch (20 cm) rosette of almost black leaves on an up to 3-foot  trunk, when mature.
 
Aeoniums make excellent summer bedding plants, since their architectural shape contrasts well with most other bedding plants.
 
This unique species has a flair for the dramatic. Its large heads of deep purple black foliage truly stand out against other greenery, and silver foliage plants. The bright yellow flowers set against the almost black foliage are very showy.
 
They can also be used effectively planted in containers rock gardens and flowerpots.
 
Grow in partial shade, in well-drained, relatively dry soil.  In the winter months water sparingly, and allow soil to dry out.
Plant you will receive is currently in a 9cm pot, and is a well established young plant measuring around 10-15 cm tall, multi Heads.
