Black & Red Suede Look Pirate Bucaneer Frock Coat 48"

This full and fabulous Jacket is only for the best dressed Scaliwag who means business! Made from a soft black suede material which hangs with style and flare. Jacket has fabulous red suede-look oversized 7" cuffs. This red has a hint of black detailing which makes for a fabulous addition. Jacket front and cuffs have snappy black gimp trim for the faux buttonholes and have a sharp red button rimmed in gold for just a hint of glimmer. Jacket is cut fuller than my regular coats and with the fabulous weight and hang of the top quality suede-look material makes for a dashing flare during those sword fights! Jacket is completely lined in a top quality deep blue/black satin lining, as dark and deadly as the deep sea and makes for a nice detail. Jacket also has a 11" slit in back.

Well made - this coat will last for many years. This is certainly one of my favorite patterns to sew from. Jacket is to sit nicely - not too snugly across shoulders and back, and taper gently down past the waist and flare out just gently around hips to the back hem. Front of jacket is cut on bias for a nice flat fit on the chest front. Jacket is made to have a 'gap' amount in the front - this is to show off your Cravat, Jabot and Waistcoat. This amount is included in the measurements below.

It is strongly recommended that you carefully check your measurements BEFORE purchase. Especially around the chest and shoulder areas as with the lovely cut of the coat it should fall well from there. The sleeves should also be just an inch or two longer than required so that when you bend your arm the cuff does not ride up to your elbow. I also recommend that you purchase a coat an inch or two larger than your regular shirt size. For example if you wear a 42" shirt - I would suggest a 44" coat..this insures good movement at the chest for swordfights and also does not fit too snugly and sits nicely. Also, it is a good idea once you weaqr this fabulous jacket to tack the large oversized cuffs down to keep them in place. But please take the time measure and ask any and all questions BEFORE purchase as this is a costume and is non-refundable. Vest and shirt shown are not included in this listing.
