Item description: This four-piece belly dance costume includes
a ruffled mermaid skirt made from black stretch velvet and black chiffon,
two arm gauntlets in matching stretch velvet, and a veil in matching
black chiffon. The set is unadorned and thus quite versatile. Wear a
belt and bra set with it for a beautiful cabaret costume or even add
your own beadwork or sequins to make it truly unique! I also carry this

Skirt description: In a classic mermaid style, the top half
of this skirt is fitted to the hips and tapers down to the knees or
just below (down to about 18.5"), where it is met by a full circle
of chiffon, which falls in a gathered ruffle to the ankles and provides
movement to the skirt. The waistband (to be worn on the upper hips)
and the velvet have a stretch to them to allow the dancer to move.
There is a very slight point/raise where the chiffon and velvet meet
at one of the seams; this can be worn center-front or over one thigh/knee
for a slightly asymmetrical look, or it can be worn at the side, where
it is unnoticeable. The mannequin in the photos is wearing the skirt
with the seams at the side. The skirt is appx. 36.5" long, but
because it is unadorned it would be simple to shorten. Please see

Arm Gauntlets description: The arm gauntlets are made from
the same stretch velvet as the skirt. These elegant gauntlets start
at the upper arm (where there is an elastic band to help them stay
up) and go down to the wrist, tapering to a point over the back of
the hand. There is a small stretchy finger loop for the middle finger.

Veil description: The veil is a basic rectangular veil in
the same chiffon as the skirt. It is fairly sheer (see photo) and
is hemmed on all sides but unadorned. The veil measures appx. 44"
x 108".

Is this the right size for you? Use the skirt

*FYI: The mannequin in the photos is wearing a size SMALL, and she
has an upper hip measurement of 32". I recommend choosing a size
based closer to the maximum comfortable stretch of the skirt's waistband
rather than the unstretched measurement so that you will get that sleek,
fitted look and avoid bunching in the velvet.
SMALL: Skirt waistband, worn at the upper hips, stretches
from 24" (completely unstretched) to 33" comfortably; skirt
length = 36.5"; arm gauntlets: upper arm band stretches from
9" to 11"; gauntlet length = appx. 18.5" to 20"
depending on stretch.
MEDIUM: Skirt waistband, worn at the upper hips, stretches
from 27" (completely unstretched) to 36" comfortably; skirt
length = 36.5"; arm gauntlets: upper arm band stretches from
10" to 12"; gauntlet length = appx. 18.5" to 20"
depending on stretch.
LARGE: Skirt waistband, worn at the upper hips, stretches
from 30" (completely unstretched) to 40" comfortably; skirt
length = 36.5"; arm gauntlets: upper arm band stretches from
11" to 13"; gauntlet length = appx. 19" to 20.5"
depending on stretch.
EXTRA LARGE: Skirt waistband, worn at the upper hips, stretches
from 34" (completely unstretched) to 44" comfortably; skirt
length = 37"; arm gauntlets: upper arm band stretches from 12"
to 14"; gauntlet length = appx. 19" to 20.5" depending
on stretch.

Condition: This costume is brand new and has never been worn
before. It is in very good condition. Customer service is a priority
of mine, so if you are not satisfied with your costume's condition,
I will do everything I can to rectify the situation. Please do keep
in mind that as I have to fold the costume to ship it, you may find
wrinkles in the chiffon when you unpack it. Simple ironing should do
the trick to smooth out any creases.
A note on the veil condition: I have noticed that sometimes there are
some little fibers/threads sticking out from under the hem on the sides
of the veil. (This happens when the veil is hemmed before the natural
fraying from the edges of the chiffon fabric is trimmed off properly).
I have tried to spot them and cut them all off, but some may have gotten
by me.
