First day cover to commerorate the 40th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The cover was stamped on 17 May 1980 & was flown in Lancaster PA474 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight during its display at the Biggin Hill Air Fair.

The cover has been signed by Group Captain Johnny Kent DFC & Bar, AFC, who amongest other achievements was Flight Commander of No 303 Squadron during the Battle of Britain.

The cover is a limited edition, & is number 197 of 1000. Also included within the cover are information cards giving the details of the career of Johnny Kent, including a black & white photo & also a card giving a brief history of the Biggin Hill Air Fair & the Battle of Britain Museum at Hendon.
