This item is a wonderful original piece of textile design artwork from the archives of Bianchini Ferier, sold at Christies auction house, Kings St, July 2001.
Bianchini Ferier was the famous printed fabric manufacturer that supplied many of the most well known Couture houses of the C20th. Most famously, Chanel, Poiret, Patou, Paquin, Vionnet, and Lelong. His most famous artist, Raoul dufy, was employed by the factory until the late 1920's.
This is the printed strike-off for a great scribble floral design produced as part of the printing process on fabric like paper, with a soft fold, and full repeat. The image measures 77cm x 83cm approx. All measurements relate to the main design image, and not mount, notes, lettering or other superfluous details. The design would make an ideal framed image, and gift, can be used for commercial art projects (please note I am unable to provide copyright, or copyright details) home projects, or any other design projects.
This is a piece of art work used as part of the design process, so will often have pencil marks, scuffs notches and other indications of its original use unless otherwise stated. I submit supersized pictures to enable you to see the design in good detail.
This design is one of a library of pieces that will be sold over the next few months, enabling purchasers to build up their own collection of art. Please search under 'Bianchini Ferier' to see other designs for sale, or click on 'view other items from this seller'
