The B2031 sports 2 separate amplifiers for low and high frequencies.
With 150 and 75 Watts respectively, they have plenty of power in
reserve. The 8.75" woofer features a special polycarbonate diaphragm
and a sturdy cast aluminum chassis. A newly designed bass reflex system
increases its efficiency, effectively reducing low-frequency
distortion. The unique shape of the bass tunnel prevents air
circulation noise even at high sound pressure levels.
The high
end is reproduced by a state-of-the-art ferrofluid-cooled tweeter with
a 25-mm dome, providing extremely high resolution. To ensure constantly
optimal stereo imaging independent of listening position, Behringer's
engineers used laser technology and computer simulations to develop a
wave guide, which guarantees absolutely linear phase response. Thanks
to the homogenous sound and precise stereo imaging, you can work for
hours on end without tiring. Enjoy!
The Measurement Protocol: Ensuring the Highest Quality Standards in Mass Production Considering
its compact size, the B2031 sports a surprisingly large frequency
response. And the integrated limiter ensures that even the strongest
unexpected peaks won't upset the amplifiers or speakers chassis and
inhibit your working efficiency. Behringer appropriately named its
monitor Truth: it doesn't make sound. We've developed a monitor that
neither compliments nor colors, but objectively reproduces your mix.
The measurement protocol you receive with a matched pair documents
their absolutely linear frequency response.
Fully Shielded: A Welcome Neighbor for Your Computer Monitor You'll
hardly find a studio without a computer monitor these days. Being
designed as a near-field monitor, the B2031 features full
electromagnetic shielding to eliminate the risk of interference between
computer monitor and speaker.
Attractive, Professional Design The
Truth studio monitor features a sturdy, low-vibration MDF cabinet with
an attractive wood grain structure. Like most studio monitors, the
B2031 has no speaker grill. Although the primary reason for this is to
ensure fully even sound dispersion, we'll admit that it also
underscores the system's professional appearance. In addition, it
allows an unobstructed view of the status and clip LED's.
Low-Frequency Roll-Off The
Truth B2031's frequency response was optimized for especially linear
reproduction down to the lowest frequency range, allowing you to
objectively judge even music with unusually pronounced sub-bass. For
particularly demanding situations, the 3-way adjustable roll-off
enables you to add a subwoofer.
Room Compensation Next
to cleverly designed construction and selected components, the response
of a speaker system is largely influenced by its position and the room
itself. Low frequencies, which radiate in a highly non-directional
manner, are especially effected by positioning, i.e. whether there is a
wall directly behind or next to the speaker. Depending on the
circumstances, the acoustic energy radiating from the system does not
necessarily radiate in all directions (free field), but may be limited
to a half, a quarter or - in the case of corner placement - even an
eighth of the potential volume. That's why we've fitted the TRUTH with
a switchable three-step attenuation of undirected low frequencies,
ensuring reliable results even in extremely varying room conditions.
High-Frequency Adaptation Another
important factor in the sound of a monitor system is room acoustics.
Professional recording and mastering studios often investincredible
amounts of money on acoustic construction to create rooms with
frequency-independent absorption, controlled reverb and no standing
waves. Unfortunately, very few rooms are ideally constructed, making
objective judgement of a mix nearly impossible. A room with a low
degree of absorption can create a hard sound, tempting one to attenuate
highs; in another room the same mix sounds dull and muddy. The Truth
B2031 features four-step high-frequency adaptation, allowing you to
optimally compensate for room acoustics and create reliable,
reproducible monitoring.
Input Trim All Behringer
consoles operate with professional standard level at the control room
output. This may not always be the case with other consoles. The B2031
sports a ±6 dB trim control, enabling you to adapt to the output level
of other consoles.
Power Mode Let's be honest: it's no
fun having to turn off all the gear in your studio when you take a
break or get called into a meeting. That's why the Truth B2031 has a
switchable Auto mode, in which it automatically recognizes whether it's
needed or not. If no signal has been received for a certain amount of
time, it switches itself into standby mode. The same switch allows you
to turn of AUTO mode or mute the system entirely, without turning off
the AC power - very useful when working with several near-field monitor
systems.
Audio Inputs Since high-quality transmission
begins in the cable path, Behringer has fitted the Truth with an
extremely low-noise balanced input stage, virtually eliminating the
risk of interference from computer monitors or power supplies.
Mute Low/Mute High Actually,
these switches were included for factory alignment purposes. There's no
real reason for you to touch them, unless of course you want to measure
the systems yourself to find out why the Truth B2031s sound so great.
