POSTAL STRIKES
October 2009 - there are currently significant delays within the postal system due to strike action - and more delays are expected in the run up to Christmas. Unfortunately we have no control over Royal Mail's ability to deliver, and regardless of how many times you email us, there is nothing we can do to speed up the delivery process if you choose Royal Mail Post as your delivery option.
To offer value for money, we will continue to offer Royal Mail 1st and 2nd class postage options on all smaller items, however we recognise some people may not be able to leave the delivery process to chance. If you need your items, we do offer a Courier Delivery option, this costs a little more than standard post, but will normally ensure you receive your items within 2 working days of date of dispatch. (** please check the listing for the handling time on a specific item).
The courier delivery option price applies to addresses in Mainland UK only. The Scottish Isles, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands ARE NOT UK MAINLAND! delivery cost for these locations is usually £17.50 depending on size and weight. Certain areas of the scottish highland also attract a delivery surcharge, and will cost approximately £9.00 to deliver.
If you do choose Royal Mail as your delivery option, please be assured we will process and post your order as quickly as possible, but delivery could be delayed by a week or more in certain areas. Royal Mail do not consider items as lost until 21 days have passed from date of dispatch.
IMPORTANT DELIVERY INFORMATION Post
We post every day, Monday-Friday* and aim to get all orders sent out within one working day. We now send EVERYTHING by recorded delivery to avoid disputes regarding items not having been received. * International post is despatched within 2-3 working days.
If you are not home Royal Mail will leave a card, and you should collect from Royal Mail within 7 days. We normally email you on the day we post your item - we recommend you watch out for the item and/or any cards left by the postman and act promptly. If you dont get a card, it may be worth checking with your neighbours.
If you wait three weeks and then email us saying it hasnt arrived yet, chances are royal mail have tried to deliver - you havent been home, and the package is being returned to us.
If you do not collect your package it gets returned to us automatically. Royal Mail's system means that undelivered mail can take 4-6 weeks to get back to us, so it's best to collect it as soon as possible - if you havent received your item within 7 days of us informing you its been posted - it may be worthwhile obtaining the tracking number from us and visiting your local royal mail depot to ask for it. You may find it easier to specify a work address if you are not normally home when the postman delivers. We keep records of tracking numbers, and will email you your tracking number on the day of posting.
We have had issues with people who are never at home, and always work all day. We send via recorded delivery ONLY - which requires you to be home to sign for the item when the postman comes. If you are one of these people, and cant be bothered to go an collect your item from the depot, please dont buy from us - we dont need the hassle.
You should update your paypal account to include any different delivery addressses you require, we use a quick automated processing system, which automatically uses the address provided by paypal for the delivery address. If you email us requesting a different delivery address after making payment it is very unlikely any additional address information will be received in time for us to change it.

We will wherever possible try to assist with any problems with postal deliveries, but please remember WE ARE NOT ROYAL MAIL and therefore have no control over the delivery once the item has left our premises. If your item should get lost in the post we can make a claim against Royal Mail for a missing item - however Royal Mail do not class post as 'lost' until 28 days after the posting date. Normally no refunds or replacements will be possible until a successful claim against royal mail has been made.
We post thousands of items every year and very rarely encounter problems, providing you provide us with the correct address, and somebody is home to sign for the item you should expect to receive your item within a few days of paying for it.

If paying by paypal, please note the following:
- We only post to the address you have registered with PAYPAL - we use an automated system on our server to process paypal payments and generate delivery labels. If you require a different delivery address, you must register this address on paypal, and select it in the checkout process. We are not able to amend addresses manually.
- If you make an 'echeque' payment, we wont receive the money from paypal for up to 2 weeks, we dont post anything until an echeque has cleared and we have cleared funds, this is due to echeque payments frequently failing. To avoid making an echeque payment, you need to register a debit or credit card with paypal and get your account verified.

|  | | For small parcels (up to around 1kG in weight) we normally use Royal Mail Postal Services. For larger packages we use a courier service such as City Link or Fedex UK. If you buy several items from us we calculate the postage and packing cost by taking the highest delivery cost first (usually the heaviest/biggest item) and then adding the cost per additional item for all the smaller items. Unless you order a large quantity of heavy/bulky items the maximum delivery charge is normally £12.00. All the delivery prices listed in ebay for courier service are for UK mainland ONLY. |  | Unless otherwise indicated, all the products we sell are brand new and boxed. A 12 month return to base warranty applies to all products we sell (with the exception of consumables such as lamps). Items faulty within 7 days will be treated as DOA (dead on arrival) and we will swap faulty goods for new, all delivery costs incurred in putting right a DOA item will be covered by Blue Aran. After 7 days the normal procedure is for goods to be returned to the manufacturer for repair, who in some instances may choose to replace the item rather than repair it, this is at the discretion of the manufacturer. You must ship the goods back to us (or direct to the manufacturer to save time) at your expense, and we will then ensure the goods are repaired or replaced and sent back to you. 7 DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE If after you receive your goods they do not appear to be as you perceived them, or are found to be unsuitable for the the purpose you require them, you may if you wish return the item for a refund. The goods should be AS NEW and UNUSED, and must be returned to us at your expense, until the item is returned to us you have a duty of care over the item. You should obtain a receipt and/or proof of posting when returning items, once we have received the goods back in satisfactory condition we will refund you the cost of the item. Where possible we suggest you wrap the item, and avoid using adhesive tape (particularly brown parcel tape) directly on the packaging of items which are boxed for retail sale, as brown tape can often be impossible to remove, and it if defaces the packaging, it devalues the item and prevents us from reselling the item. The 7 day satisfaction guarantee does not apply to consumable items eg lamps, tape, fog fluid. If you wish to purchase multiple items on ebay we can usually combine the delivery costs and make the combined cost cheaper than the sum of the individual delivery charges. Unfortunately ebay doesnt always calculate this correctly, therefore when you come to checkout, if the delivery charge looks more than you would expect you should click 'Request total from seller'. Ebay will then notify us and we will work out the delivery cost and put it in manually. In general we take the delivery cost for the largest item, and add the 'cost per additional item' for each of the smaller items.
