Beautiful Marble Upside Down Mystery Swinger Clock, NR
Here is one very nice and unusual clock--it is the French Style Upside Down Mystery Clock with a Pinwheel Escapement. It really does have everything you might like to see in a clock. It stands 26 inches high with an cream colored polished marble base. It has a brass support for the clock, which is a 5 inch diameter black porcelain dial with the movement as the bottom of the pendulum of the clock. Look closely and see the whole swinging clock as the pendulum--it is really quite amazing. The movement is totally skeletonized, and it has a traditional grid iron pendulum, which is actually the body of the clock. The movement has a pinwheel escapement, one which most clock collectors have never even seen before. Instead of a traditional verge escapement, it has a gear with pins off to the side of the escape wheel gear, and the clock runs on those pins. Note that it is totally visible while it is running. It has a nice roman numeral black porcelain dial. I get amazed when thinking about the marble of this clock, that it is millions of years old, and the veins of it, how different moves of the earth created the lines of the marble. Each clock is individual in its characteristics. You will be impressed with this nice looking clock. It has shipping/insurance charges of $30 within the Continental USA.
