 This is a a beautiful Deville & Co. Model Number 278 coal burning stove. I'm not exactly sure of its age, however, the door hinge finial and door handle are the same casting as that of Deville's popular Le Non Pareil so one might guess at about 1930. Fortunately it still retains its detachable ash catcher.  I cant keep my eyes off it, a petite version of BB perhaps?!

The stove has the following dimensions:
Height: 740mm
Max dia (from back of flue stub to front of ash catcher):480 mm
Cylinder dia: 220mm
Flue external diameter: 83 mm

The stove has been completely overhauled and reconditioned. The work undertaken on this stove is as follows:
1: Minor repairs to the steel outer casing
2: Cleaning away surface rust and resealing using a  black stove paint.
3: A new riddler arm.
4: All new mica fitted to the front view aperture.
5: A new soft rope seal to the side door....asbestos removed.
6: Minor repairs to existing fire lining.
The enamel on this stove is in good condition for its age, and because or its colour where there is enamel loss, its very difficult to see!
The stove is fully functional and is designed to burn coal, the burn chamber and access to it, are too small for anything other than kindling wood.. I would guess that the stove is capable of providing up to2-3Kwatts of heat. The stove still retains its original fire  lining, although this has been repaired/patched over the years,( including my own repairs), there is still plenty of life left in them. 
The stove should be fitted by a competent person and note taken of the existing regulations. Should you have any questions relating to the installation please ask me.

Please remember that this stove is a working antique, take good care of it and not only will it keep you warm, but will provide a beautiful focal point to any room.

The stove will be supplied with a CD showing all the various aspects of the above work , information on maintenance and use of the stove.**4th November: my main pc has just given me a blue screen!!!...so at this time I cannot provide pictures of the work!                              

The stove is presently in North London, although I can arrange for it to be collected (or despatched) from South Dorset or South Devon. Should you require delivery please ask me for a quotation.
